About (from Band’s Website):
Full Release came together in December 2003 when a group of friends challenged the original members to form a band for an upcoming New Year’s Eve party. Blake Thomas, Eric Gomez, Clark Akers and former bassist, Ray Soliz, made up the original foursome. Practicing night after night for hours on end, the young band learned three hours of music and put on the best damn rock show the Crosby American Legion Hall had ever seen.
For the next two years, the band gigged Houston and perfected their act. It wasn’t until the addition of new front man, Chris Clayton, did the band finally take off. With a talented lead singer and solid instrumentation, the sky was the limit. Full Release began hitting all the hot spots in Houston. Sherlock’s, Sam’s Boat, Scout Bar and special events kept the band busy for the following years. In all, they’ve hit thirty local venues and the occasional private party.
In 2006, Jim Thompson took over the bass guitar role and brought an old school style that set the band apart. His solid bass licks and distinctive long black hair renewed an element this band was missing; showmanship.
Today, the goal of the band remains the same. Play the music people want to hear, but don’t play what every other cover band is playing. The crowds have gotten larger and the music more diverse. Today, you can hear everything from Bryan Adams to Marvin Gaye, Snoop Dogg to The Outfield and Sublime to Def Leopard. No matter what you hear that night, you’re assured to have a great time.
